Bandhavgarh National Park, located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is renowned for its thriving population of Bengal tigers.
Once the private hunting grounds of Maharajas, the park is now a protected area and one of India’s most important tiger reserves. With dense sal forests, bamboo thickets, and open grasslands, Bandhavgarh provides an ideal habitat for these magnificent predators.
The tigers of Bandhavgarh are among the most photographed in the world due to their relatively high visibility. The park is/was home to several famous tigers, including Charger, known for his fearless nature, and Sita, once featured on the cover of National Geographic. Their legacies live on through their offspring, helping maintain the tiger population.
